The Sun Heart Sculpture stands out among Sherry's artwork with a unique new texture application. . Sherry mixed a liquid foundation and sifted dry enamel in a clumping manner, creating a thick coat of enamel throughout the piece.  The sculpture was then fired with the intention of creating a new and interesting texture on the surface of the copper.  The result is radiant bursts of bright yellow emerging through whites and softer yellows, evoking the warmth and brilliance of a sun flare.  

Explore the depths of color and light created in the final firing while viewing this captivating piece.   This piece was fired fewer times at a lower temperature to allow the layers of enamel to be thicker and have more variation in the heights of the  finish.  This was the initial exploration of this technique, and the results were delightfully surprising to the artist, as I hope they will be to the viewer.
